Level of Detail Expressions: EXCLUDE

An EXCLUDE expression is the least commonly used of the level of detail expressions. It allows you show data at a more aggregated level than that in the view, while it updates dynamically, based on the dimensions in the view. You might use EXCLUDE to show subtotals on maps or provide context in tooltips. EXCLUDE expressions use the same structure as other level of detail expressions and are more dynamic than FIXED calculations.

At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Describe when to use an EXCLUDE expression.
  • Use an EXCLUDE expression in a view.
  • Update a tooltip.
