Using Unions to Combine Data
Unions combine your data by lengthening the tables, which allows you to build longer, more robust data sources. Create and edit data unions to combine tables with the same structure, like weather tables for each month, or sales data for each store branch. Even if the field titles don't match perfectly, you can correct mismatched fields. Unions provide another way to customize your data source before you start an analysis.
Lesson Objectives
At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Define a data union.
- Describe the difference between a union and a join.
- Recall the required structure and similarities between worksheets for unions.
